Job description
we are ideally seeking an Engineer/Deck & Chef couple for a 30m sailbaot
Maintaining the engine room, completing motor services, maintain a running log of all service intervals and inventory relating to engine room and machinery there in, handle some of the more difficult technical repair tasks onboard. The candidate should be able to take full responsibility for the engine room and all equipment there in.
Secondary objective : Should be available to cross over between certain deckhand responsibilities and engineer; duties on deck. This will involve deck jobs such as tender launching, setting sail, anchoring and aiding in close quarters manoeuvres where needed.
The engineering department is responsible for the following aspects of the yacht operation:
All engineering system operations and maintenance.
Mechanical aspects.
Electrical installations.
Electronics & audio-visual systems.
Hydraulics.
Air conditioning & heating systems.
Sanitation and environmental control.
Engine room safety management (ISM).
Planned maintenance coordination (PMP).
REQUIRED SKILLS:
A mechanical, diesel or electrical background.
Strong project management skills.
Inventory maintenance experience.
Understanding of different softwares.
Organised, time management awareness.
Ability to overcome seasickness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Approved Engine Course (AEC).
The Marine Engine Operators Licence (MEOL)
Small Vessel Second Engineer (formerly Y4)
ENG 1 Medical.
THE PACKAGE:
Starting early March and joining the yacht in Valencia, Spain
8 weeks holiday per year
Annual contract
Salary in the region of €5,000 DOE
The position is permanent and will become rotational.
