Experienced ETO for Polar Expedition Vessel

Location: Polar Regions, with periods in the Mediterranean

Day Rate: Approx. EUR 465 (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications)

About the Vessel:
Unique 50-year-old polar expedition vessel converted from an Icebreaker. The vessel operates in some of the most remote and challenging environments on the planet, including the Arctic and Antarctica, with occasional periods in the Mediterranean.

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled ETO with a strong background in the commercial maritime industry and a solid grasp of AVIT systems. This is not a typical "white boat" role; therefore, candidates with only white boat experience may find it challenging to adapt to the demands of this vessel.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and maintain all electrical and electronic systems on board.
Manage AVIT systems effectively.
Collaborate closely with the engineering team and other crew members.
Be proactive and willing to engage in all aspects of the vessel’s operations.

Qualifications:
Extensive experience as an ETO in the commercial maritime sector.
Strong knowledge of AVIT systems.
Open-minded and adaptable to the unique challenges of a polar expedition vessel.
Working Conditions:

Trip lengths are typically 8 weeks on, 8 weeks off, with regular back-to-back rotations.
Shared cabin accommodation with the 3rd Engineer, who works night shifts while on charter, ensuring the cabin is free at night.
Two refit periods annually: one month in April and three months starting in September in La Ciotat.
Employment Type:

Initially temporary, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Start Date:
Approximately 6th June, including a 4-day handover followed by an 8-week rotation.
