First Mate - 35M Privatee MY - Mediterranean based

Job description

We are currently seeking a First Mate to join a 35m Private New Build M/Y, due for launch in the near future and operating permanently in the Mediterranean.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Captain and be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all deck and navigational duties.
This includes the management of the deck team, maintenance planning, bridge operations, and the implementation of safety and operational procedures in line with the vessel’s standards.
This is a hands-on position requiring a mature, organised, and motivated individual with excellent leadership qualities and a strong work ethic.
You will possess prior experience in a similar capacity or be a seasoned Bosun ready to step up
Oversee all deck operations, maintenance, and exterior presentation
Assist the Captain with passage planning, navigation, and bridge management
Manage safety drills, deck inventories, and crew training where applicable
Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, and onboard safety protocols
Yachtmaster Offshore ticket as a minimum
Proven experience as Mate or Bosun on vessels 30m+
Excellent navigational, tender driving, and seamanship skills
Sound understanding of maintenance programs and deck procedures
Strong leadership and communication abilities
A salary of €5,500 - €6,000 DOE is on offer with 42 days leave
Start date: 1st December
