The Lead Hand acts as understudy to the Bosun and is to assist in maintaining the exterior of the yacht and take charge of the Deckhands.
The Lead Hand is to assist the Bosun in the following duties: storage, use and maintenance of toys and tenders, equipment, deck maintenance and deck supplies. He needs to be proficient in tender driving and assist in training the deckhands.
The Lead Hand step up to the role of Bosun during the Bosun’s leave periods.

The right candidate will have strong leadership skills coupled with a positive ‘can do’ attitude. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deckhand to take the first step into a leadership role, whilst learning from an experienced Bosun on a 100m+ yacht.

Responsibilities:
Cleanliness and maintenance of the yacht.
Inventories
Acquiring knowledge of all equipment and maintenance products onboard.
Develop, execute, and assist in planned maintenance and repair projects - varnish, painting, caulking, fiberglass repair.
Guest liaison for water sports.
Securing the exterior decks for sea.
Partaking in and overseeing anchoring & mooring Operations as directed by the Chief Officer.

Qualifications needed:
Experienced deckhand with 2 + years on 80m+ Yachts
Navigational Watch Rating
Yacht Master Offshore or / PBL2
PWC Instructor
Helideck Assistant
Basic STCW Certification (Valid for min 6 months)
ENG1 (Valid for min 6 months)
Proficiency in Designated Security Duties
Excellent Tender Driving Skills
Knowledge of water sports
Good knowledge of the safe and appropriate use of deck products
Maintenance skills - paint, varnish, caulking, filling, basic outboard, some product knowledge
Basic engineering knowledge
Keen eye for detail
Leadership & Teamwork
