About me
I see myself as a hands-on individual with a can-do attitude. I am keen to progress further into the yachting industry as I believe it would be the perfect challenge that fits my passion for travel. I am currently working as a temporary deckhand on a 30m motor yacht. I have also completed 18 days of daywork on 4 motor yachts in Palma De Mallorca. I also have experience in Environmental Compliance, Construction site & Bar/Restaurant environments. I pride myself on being a quick learner & a ‘people person’ who can work well in a team or independently. Throughout my working life, I have gained experience in physically demanding industries where working long hours was required. I displayed these skills whilst working in a team of tradesmen in Melbourne (Australia). One of my roles included directing site traffic with a two-way radio, clear communication was essential.

Deckhand (Temporary) at 30m Motor Yacht
August 2021 - September 2021 (13 days)
*Still currently employed until 20/09/21 - The boat is looking for a deck/engineer for the long term. As a deckhand on Ries, I have gained experience for my first contracted position. I am the sole deckhand for the vessel when the chase boat driver is not on board. My main duties include; Anchoring, assisting with mooring, assisting setting up and packing down water toys (Sea bob, Jet Ski, Paddle boards & Wakeboard), Jet Tender driving, setting up and packing down beach set ups and keeping the boat clean.
Deckhand (Daywork) at 45m Motor Yacht
August 2021 - August 2021 (3 days)
Whilst working on Calliope, I had a a variety of deckhand tasks. I gained further experience detailing. This included dry & wet stainless polishing, glass cleaning/rain protection and washdowns. Along with another deckhand I cleaned the hull using a raft. The boat had recently completed an Atlantic crossing and had to be ready for an upcoming boss trip. This was great experience being part of an established crew.

Deckhand (Daywork) at 37m Motor Yacht
July 2021 - August 2021 (6 days)
Deckhand on 37m motor yacht Bagheera at the Port De Mallorca. This included teak maintenance where I gained experience with stage 1 & 2 acid wash. I also carried out a washdown and helped out in the engine room. During the week I gained an insight into life on-board as a deckhand which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Deckhand (Daywork) at 57m Motor Yacht

On motor yacht Vector, I spent two days cleaning the teak in a team of 5 deckhands. The boat needed to be ready for an upcoming boss trip. This was a great experience on a large motor yacht with the pressure of a quick turn around. This was also good experience working in a team of established deckhands.
Deckhand (Daywork) at 40m Motor Yacht
August 2021 - August 2021 (2 days)
Daywork spent detailing motor yacht Liquid Rehab. This included a washdown and stainless polishing. I also assisted craning the tender to the water line and then used it to clean the hull. This was good experience with a tender in a confined marina space where careful control was required. I also gained experience using the ships internal radio system as well as prepping the boat for imminent guest arrival.

In my spare time I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and snowboarding. I have hiked
several peaks and trails across the UK, including the Yorkshire dales 3 peaks challenge. As well as this,
I enjoy swimming, running & the gym. My other main passion is music. I have a set of turntables and
enjoy collecting records & mixing a variety of music genres. I also enjoy live music events from dance
music, rock & acoustic.
