I am a 32 year old American with 7 years experience working as a professional sailor. I have been the Captain of Ocean Star, a 27m sailing yacht, and the Chief Mate on Vela, a 34m sailing yacht for the same company for 7 years. I have circumnavigated and sailed over 95,000 nm in the Caribbean, Atlantic, Mediterranean, Pacific and Indian Oceans. I recently passed my OOW <3000 and am seeking a role where I can learn more about the bridge but have a more hands-on deck focused position. I am an extremely hard working, fit and capable person who is used to long hours and demanding schedules. My experience in command of vessels and as Chief Mate operating in remote areas has taught me how to find solutions under pressure. I am a calm and confident leader who is used to working with and mentoring large crews of up to 30.
