About me
I have always been a keen sportsman, since my schooling in Johannesburg, competing in any sport I could get involved in. I have learnt, later in life, that sport not only taught me physical skills, fitness and endurance, but the life lessons of dedication, commitment to a task, teamwork and leading a team toward a common goal. These skills have been vital in the work space, and especially onboard yachts. Studying my Bcom Accounting and working in auditing for a year further built on my work ethic and organization, however, I knew I wanted more than my daily excel spreadsheets. I stepped onto my first yacht in France, 1st June 2018 after 60 days of dock-walking and agents meetings, and I was immediately hooked. The high pace, hard work, perfection-driven work environment was well suited to me and I have enjoyed every moment of my 5 years in yachting. I remained on my first vessel for 4 years, working my way from junior deckhand up to Mate. I have a hunger to learn and am looking forward to broadening knowledge base under new Captains, Officers and crew.

from junior deckhand to mate I learnt most of my skills on Odyssea. As mate I assisted with the conversion from private to charter (Mini ISM) and ran the 10 year survey. We also did a pacific crossing

Honed in on product knowledge and leadership skills with a large focus on the progression of my deckhands in their careers. I feel i learnt new and different ways to get the jobs done on deck.
