I’m a 21-year-old from Devon, where I spent much of my life on the beach and around the water. My parents are both passionate sailors, so days at sea were a big part of my childhood. I was always eager to help out onboard and loved fishing off the stern (though rarely successfully), any mention of a boat trip was a guaranteed excitement. Most of my work has been in hospitality, including teaching snowboarding, which helped me develop strong communication skills and confidence with people. Living in close quarters in ski resorts also taught me how to manage shared spaces and prevent small issues from escalating. I pride myself on having an upbeat personality and love bringing humour to the team, I believe a happy crew is a productive one. This has been recognised by previous managers, along with my ability to stay calm under pressure and take direction well. While I didn’t always have an eye for detail, my recent experience working on luxury yachts in Torbay has changed that. I’ve developed a strong sense of pride in presentation and understand how much owners value their boats—often treating them like a second home or even a family member. Hearing positive feedback from clients gives me real satisfaction and drives me to maintain the highest standards of work. Now I’m excited to bring this passion, work ethic, and growing experience into a deckhand role within a professional superyacht crew.
