My name is Julian Marais, a 31-year-old South African deckhand with over three years of hands-on commercial marine experience. I am currently working on a support vessel and responsible for the safe transfer of crew, equipment, and supplies to vessels, often in challenging sea and weather conditions. This experience has strengthened my commitment to safety, teamwork, and professionalism. Through my current role, I have gained valuable experience working long hours in all weather conditions, handling marine logistics and maintaining high standards when interacting with crew. This has strengthened my work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. My commercial marine background has given me valuable practical experience in deck operations, line handling, tender operations, vessel maintenance, and working as part of a professional crew. I am eager to bring these skills to the super yacht industry while continuing to develop my knowledge and experience. I hold all the necessary maritime certifications required to work in the yachting industry and am committed to building a long-term career on private or charter yachts. I take pride in maintaining high standards and approaching every task with a positive, hard-working attitude. I am physically fit, dependable, and thrive in challenging environments. I can provide two weeks’ notice to my employer before joining a new position. I hold a valid South African passport.
