After departing the luxury yacht industry in 2012 to attend to family matters and explore different career paths, I embarked on a journey that afforded me invaluable experiences and skills. From my time as a Personal Assistant, managing accounts, and coordinating events I honed my organizational abilities, attention to detail, and knack for fostering strong client relationships. Driven by a passion for travel and adventure, I returned to the yachting world in 2016 to fulfill my lifelong goal of visiting 80 countries by 2020. This journey led me to explore diverse cultures and destinations while refining my hospitality skills in a maritime setting. Once I reached my goal, I returned to South Africa where I worked in various capacities from 2018-2023, including managing special projects and new builds for Mfulawozi Wilderness, a luxury Private Game Reserve. Despite the challenges and temptations to settle into a conventional work routine, I realized that my heart belonged to the exhilarating world of luxury hospitality and seafaring. My recent experience with The Moorings and my current role on S/Y Ellen have further solidified my commitment to pursuing a career in luxury yacht hospitality. I am grateful for the support and encouragement I received from my colleagues and superiors, and I am eager to apply my skills and experiences in a role that aligns more closely with my long-term career aspirations.
