As someone with vast experience in the hospitality industry, the step-up to becoming a yacht steward has sparked interest to me as an opportunity to securing it as a long-term career. I am a very career driven person with aims to progress and I am also keen to learn new things to be as knowledgable as possible in any department.   Personal presentation and hygiene is very important to me, down to the way I hold myself and my ability to remain calm, collected and positive in any situation. I have even been compared to the likes of figure skater or a ballet dancer from my poise. I consider myself as someone easy to get along and socialise with, however I am even better at prioritising my work and always holding perfect standards. I really enjoy traveling and trying new things which stems from me living in the UAE and Qatar for large parts of my life and visiting countries all over the globe, so I have a vast understanding and appreciation for different cultures and societies.   I completed a 3-week interior course at the UKSA from 25/09/23 – 13/10/23 in which I further developed my skills in housekeeping, silver service, flower arranging, detailing, barista, wine and mixology and various certifications such as my GMDSS Short Range Radio and Powerboat Level 2 Licenses. I used this time to learn as much as possible about the industry and gained a lot of useful tips through networking with other seafarers onsite.   My experience in hospitality ranges from everything that is expected onboard a luxury vessel. I have served breakfast for over 200 hotel guests alone whilst my colleagues were sick, but also am flexible and reliable when working in a team, remaining professional but also getting the job done in a timely manner whilst using everyone’s strengths to the guests’ advantage. I take passion in barista and cocktail craft as I have an eye for detail, but I can also multi-task to make multiple drinks at the same time whilst still presenting a perfectly consistent standard. I am very used to working long hours as I have gone to the lengths of working a 60-hour week on top of full-time education before, this is all because I have a genuine dedication and care to provide excellent service, remaining organised and intuitive whilst doing so and being the reason to make someone’s day special.
