About me
I’m a marine engineer with progressive experience in engine department operations, starting as an Engine Cadet and currently serving as a 2nd/3rd Engineer with Wilhelmsen Smith Bell Manning Inc. on Viking Ocean Cruises. Since joining the maritime industry in 2016, I’ve steadily built my technical skills and responsibilities onboard. In my current role, I carry out maintenance of key machinery, manage engine room watchkeeping duties, and ensure the upkeep of systems such as auxiliary engines, boilers, incinerators, and fire-fighting equipment. I’m also responsible for updating maintenance records, handling inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and documentation. Previously, I served as a Motorman and Wiper where I gained hands-on experience in mechanical repairs, equipment restoration, and day-to-day upkeep of the engine department. My journey began as an Engine Cadet where I developed a strong foundation in ship engine maintenance and troubleshooting under the supervision of senior engineers. Throughout my career, I’ve consistently demonstrated reliability, technical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and operational efficiency, always aiming to support smooth vessel operations and continual improvement.
