I began my yachting career in 2009 where I worked on a seasonal basis until 2011 on both private and charter yachts ranging between 25 - 85m. Most of this time was spent in the Mediterranean, but also completed a season in the Bahamas. When I returned to South Africa at the end of 2011, I established myself in the Film & Television Industry in Cape Town where I freelanced in several different fields starting with Cast / Extras Coordinating, Production Coordinating, Locations Coordinating and finally becoming a Production Manager in 2015 until present. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with some amazing actors such as Tom Cruise, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, and Penelope Cruz and worked as Sasha Baron Cohen’s Personal Assistant whilst filming in South Africa. In 2018 I returned to yachting on a seasonal basis and in 2019, I was offered my first Chief Stewardess position. Between August 2020 till September 2021, I took on a land-based contract in the Middle East working for an UHNW individual as Butler. We moved around several different villas and projects serving a wide range of guests visiting from all over the world. Having worked in high end hospitality for 5 years combined and the film industry for 9 years, I have gained vast experience in managing my time well, being efficient and thorough whilst working under enormous pressure at times with very challenging clients and / or guests from all over the world. It should be noted the reason I have only taken seasonal positions up until now is due to being in a long term relationship in South Africa. Now that I have my B1B2 visa, I am open to dual seasons as a permanent rotational Chief Stew which will allow me to commit to a full time position but also allow me to remain committed to my relationship. It should also be noted the Production Managing work in South Africa is freelance and the film season runs during our South African Spring / Summer / Autumn months (Oct – May), whereas the Med yachting season runs during our Autumn / Winter / Spring months (May – Oct) which has made it possible for me to move between the two industries.
