About me

I am a highly dedicated, hardworking, and versatile hospitality professional with over 20 years of experience across different roles in the cruise and maritime industry. My career journey reflects not only my adaptability and growth but also my strong commitment to service, discipline, and teamwork. From starting as a receptionist in the Philippines to my current role as a tailor and laundry master reliever with Scenic Eclipse, I have continuously built my skills, embraced challenges, and proven my reliability in every position I have taken on. My first professional experience began as a Receptionist with Inter-Island in the Philippines, where I worked for two years. In this role, I was responsible for front desk operations, guest assistance, handling inquiries, and ensuring smooth communication between departments. This experience shaped my ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds, taught me the importance of patience, professionalism, and hospitality, and laid the foundation for my career in the service industry. After gaining front office experience, I pursued a transition into the maritime industry with the same company and worked as a Cabin Steward for another two years. This marked the start of my hands-on journey in guest service and housekeeping operations. As a Cabin Steward, I became skilled in cabin preparation, maintaining cleanliness and order, attending to guest needs, and ensuring that passengers enjoyed a comfortable stay onboard. This position demanded strong attention to detail, time management, and discretion, all of which became core strengths I carried throughout my career. Seeking greater exposure and development, I joined Star Cruises as a Cabin Steward II, where I worked for four years. During this time, I honed my housekeeping expertise and gained valuable international experience in a multicultural working environment. I adapted quickly to the fast-paced demands of cruise operations and learned to consistently meet high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction. These four years were formative in building resilience, discipline, and a strong work ethic—qualities that remain at the heart of my professional identity. Following my tenure at Star Cruises, I expanded my experience by taking on roles as Housekeeping Utility and Laundryman on an on-and-off basis for three years. These roles provided me with in-depth knowledge of back-of-house operations, particularly in laundry care, linen management, and sanitation. I became adept in operating commercial laundry machines, handling delicate garments, and supporting the housekeeping team in ensuring efficiency and quality. While these roles were not always constant, they kept me engaged in the hospitality industry and allowed me to further diversify my skill set. Alongside my housekeeping and laundry responsibilities, I developed my craft as a Tailor, where I worked for seven years. This stage of my career allowed me to discover a passion for tailoring and garment repair, blending technical precision with creativity. I specialized in uniform alterations, repairs, and maintenance—ensuring crew members always looked professional. Tailoring required a different type of focus, patience, and craftsmanship, and I took pride in ensuring the smallest details were executed to the highest standards. When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the cruise and travel industry, I used the time to reflect on my career path and prepare for the next opportunity. Determined to return to the maritime industry, I joined Scenic Eclipse as a Tailor and Laundry Master Reliever, a position I have now held for almost five years. This role has been both rewarding and challenging, as I am entrusted with responsibilities that require both technical expertise and leadership skills. As a Tailor, I continue to ensure crew uniforms and passenger garments are properly fitted, repaired, and maintained. My background as a cabin steward and housekeeper helps me understand the importance of presentation and comfort, which motivates me to deliver precise and high-quality tailoring services. As a Laundry Master Reliever, I take on leadership responsibilities in overseeing laundry operations. This includes managing the flow of laundry for guests and crew, training and supervising staff, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring the smooth running of the laundry department. Balancing both tailoring and laundry master duties requires flexibility, problem-solving skills, and strong organizational abilities—all of which I have cultivated throughout my diverse career journey. Today, with nearly five years of service at Scenic Eclipse, I continue to embrace every opportunity to grow and contribute. My career progression demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. I take pride in being a team player who can be relied upon in any role—whether front-facing with guests or behind the scenes ensuring that operations run seamlessly. Beyond my technical skills, I am known for my dedication, discipline, and ability to work under pressure. I thrive in multicultural environments, respect hierarchy and teamwork, and always seek to improve efficiency and service quality. I have developed a strong sense of responsibility, honed my interpersonal skills, and learned the value of patience and persistence in delivering excellent service. Looking back, my career journey has been a continuous path of learning and growth. Starting as a receptionist in the Philippines gave me the communication skills and confidence to interact with guests. Transitioning into cabin steward and housekeeping roles built my foundation in hospitality and attention to detail. My years as a tailor taught me craftsmanship and precision, while my current role at Scenic Eclipse has allowed me to combine technical expertise with leadership and operational responsibilities. Moving forward, I aspire to continue growing within the maritime and hospitality industry. I am passionate about delivering exceptional service, maintaining high standards, and contributing to the success of the organization I am part of. I believe that my broad experience across multiple roles makes me a versatile professional capable of adapting to various challenges. Whether working directly with guests, managing behind-the-scenes operations, or ensuring uniforms and garments are perfectly maintained, I bring dedication and pride to everything I do. In summary, I am a hospitality professional with over two decades of diverse experience in reception, cabin service, housekeeping, tailoring, and laundry operations. My career has taken me from the Philippines to international cruise lines, and I am proud to have built a reputation as someone who is reliable, hardworking, and skilled in multiple areas. With Scenic Eclipse, I continue to serve with passion and professionalism, committed to contributing to the success of the team and the satisfaction of guests.
