About me
I’m a professionally registered engineer with over 27 years of at-sea engineering experience. Having trained in the Royal Navy and remained for 24 years, I also gained some commercial experience before moving to the superyacht sector. Holding the Small Vessel Chief Engineer CoC (3000GT 9000kW), I am seeking a long term rotational position. I am currently in the UK and am available from April 2023. All my STCW, CoC and ENG1 certification is in date, I am fully Covid vaccinated and I hold a valid B1/B2 US visa. In my career, I have sailed as Chief Engineer on an 82m expedition vessel as well as Second Engineer on two naval 133m ships. I have more recently sailed as a rotational Second Engineer on a 70m Lürssen and as a temporary Chief Engineer on a 55m Trinity. I am a hands-on engineer with a multi-manufacturer engine maintainer background and have worked extensively as a gas turbine and propulsion equipment engineer. I am familiar with the service and repair of a wide variety of yacht equipment and have extensive IDEA PMS experience and I pride myself on my attention to detail. Additionally, I have worked regularly on vessels with minimal shore support and am capable of diagnosis on a diverse range of systems and equipment, whether it be mechanical, electrical or AV/IT-based. In addition, I have considerable naval build experience as well as refit experience with a wide variety of vessels. I am a great team player and have spent long periods within sea-going vessels and I have a great rapport with other crew members. I’m always well presented and with my background in military and civilian VIP engagement, guest interaction is second nature to me. Furthermore, I am entirely capable of working alone to achieve positive and timely outcomes due to my strong organisational skills.
