I joined Savannah as a rotational ETO, in a 5 year refit yard period in MB92 Barcelona and have progressed rapidly in my time on board. This has been a vast and dynamic role split between both Electrical and AVIT technology. Quick thinking and meticulous planning have been crucial to this position, along with dedication and reliability. Key achievements include: - 5 year refit, respray and overhaul of AVIT / Electrical systems on board including large underwater lighting replacement project and exterior lighting replacement. - Full CCTV overhaul, replacing obsolete surveillance with complete package working closely with Captain onboard and external suppliers. - Replacement of RH bridge conning servers and re-wiring of all NMEA data feeds on board to suit. - VSAT maintenance and replacement of componentry - Disaster recovery of Cisco switching equipment and main firewall on board. - Cyber Security assessments and the production of ships SMS / SOP documentation to suit. - Programmable lighting (Lutron) advancements – Repair, replacement and diagnostics of multiple issues on board. - Design and implementation of high speed 4G LTE system on board - Design and implementation of wireless doorphone solution (custom made to work with Cisco CME) - Test and fault finding of multiple electrical issues on board, being a Hybrid DG vessel (first of it’s kind), has had some quirks.
