I grew up in Derbyshire, UK, and began my seafaring career at 30 after leaving a previous profession. In 2013, I moved to Spain to learn to sail. Although I did not intend to join the industry, I developed a passion for the ocean. By 2025, I will have spent 65% of my career as a superyacht Captain. Starting later in this field required me to work diligently to earn my qualifications and demonstrate my abilities, drawing on my experience in high-risk leadership roles to ensure safe and effective decision-making. During my career, I have cruised all major destinations in the Mediterranean and Caribbean, including the port of Miami, Miami River, the Devil's Backbone in the Bahamas, St Maarten bridge, and from Capri to St Tropez. I have managed various onboard emergencies and consistently ensured the safe return of crew and vessels. I take pride in being organised, leading effectively and safely, and serving as an approachable figurehead on board.
