About me
After 5 years working at a FTSE100 company in London, last year I left to pursue a new career that I was passionate about and trained as a deckhand, yoga teacher, PW (Jetski) instructor and sports massage therapist. I'm now actively seeking a long-term deckhand position on a superyacht that would allow me to use some or all of these skills and I'm currently in the South of France and available immediately having had both my coronavirus vaccines. I love to travel and over the years have felt more at home by the sea. I'm a people person with a passion for all things health and wellbeing, who finds joy in helping others learn, have fun and flourish. I feel the superyacht industry is unique because it could provide me with a career that encompasses all of my passions and would suit the well-organised, hard-working and active person I am.
Work experience
Various Roles - most recently CSR Project Manager (Full time) at 1m Research Vessel
September 2015 - October 2020 (5 years 1 mon 1 day)
Shore-based Position I worked my way up from the graduate scheme in 2015 to being solely responsible for the group's corporate social responsibility activities in 2020. In my most recent role I was accountable for a yearly budget of over £500k, managed a committee of volunteers across Europe and ran a grassroot sports funding scheme that donated £165k to over 120 clubs struggling financially due to COVID-19.
Founder and Teacher (Full time) at 1m Research Vessel
January 2021 - Currently employed
Shore-based Position I've taught over 100 classes through a combination of public, private, celebration & corporate yoga sessions (testimonials available on my website: www.willpetersyoga.com). From January to September this year I ran a weekly online public yoga class. My weekly "lockdown donation based" sessions regularly had 30+ attendees and lasted over 3 months (the duration of the UK's initial 3rd lockdown).
Yoga Teacher (Temporary) at 1m Research Vessel
January 2021 - February 2021 (1 mon 13 days)
Shore-based Position Post-graduation my yoga school asked me (as an "outstanding graduate") to teach classes on their virtual studio, with my trial class having the highest number of attendees ever on the platform. I then taught a weekly class, alongside the teachers who taught me, as part of the school's online "30-day yoga challenge" offering.
